For Catholics Scripture is one of the two ways in which God is
revealed to us (Traditions, the teachings of the Church is the second).
In Holy Scripture we find an entire library of books, written in
different genres (styles) and throughout many periods of history.
In these sacred stories we can trace the history of God's love and
concern for humanity: through creation, the establishment of the
divine covenant with Israel, the promise of a Messiah, and the message
of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of his followers,
the early Christian Church.
