 Mission Statement

My name is Fr. David G. Nations CM. I am a Vincentian Priest who is appointed to St. Joe's as a part-time associate whose primary ministry will be to the Latino/Hispanic community. I am a native of Perryville Missouri, which is located about one hour to the south of St. Louis. Some Might ask, "How is it that I speak Spanish and come from Southeast Missouri?" Well, its not because of any Latino blood running through my veins. Rather, I have spent the last 10 years of my life working predominantly with Latino populations from Los Angeles Ca., Denver Co., Chicago Il., Northwest Ar., St. Louis, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico. Some of this time was actually spent in the classroom learning the language while the rest was spent living among and working with the people.

As a Vincentian priest I am different from the other diocesan priests who serve in the parish. I belong to a community of priests and brothers who follow St. Vincent de Paul the patron of the poor. As such one of my commitments has and always will be serving and promoting the care of the poor.

In addition to these few facts, I am a fan of the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking, boating are some of my favorite hobbies. I am also a child of the techno-boom, an electrician, plumber, carpenter, mechanic, the good old "Jack of all Trades".

Since it is impossible to say everything about myself in this small space, I hope to get to know you through my involvement in the parish. I look forward to meet you.

Me llamo Pd. David G. Nations CM.
