email to missing members.

- All Saints Mass Oct 29
- Advent Family Event Nov 30
- Epiphany Mass Jan 7
- 7th & 8th Grade
Chastity Night with REAP Team Feb 4

- Parents Mixer on Nov 12 during PSR will
center on social time together as parents.
We need volunteers to help Tammy Heet, who has volunteered to
organize this. She will need help
with prep for the event and with running the evening.
- PSR Donut Sunday Dec 9th will
need volunteers to help with this event.
One or two chairpersons to organize, two would be excellent. Eileen Munoz can fill us in on tasks
since she organized this last year.
In addition to Donut Sunday there will also be a new toy collection
going on for Giving Sunday which will be publicized with PSR Donut Sunday.
III. Discussion
- Michelle asked for board members to volunteer
to represent each grade level.
Parents then will have a more direct way to contact the board with
questions, comments or concerns.
- It was suggested that PSR events be
announced in a small way at the end of Mass for better communication, like
for the first grade mass & breakfast that just passed. Michelle shared that the announcements
are discouraged because of time & they have to be kept very short and
to the point. Michelle will look
into this to see if it would be possible.
- The recruiting of new board members will
be changed to end of year instead of the beginning of the school year
since the board is changing to a format of four times a year.
- The $50.00 fine for no-shows for parking
lot duty is working as we had hoped.
It is deterring persons from missing their assigned parking lot
duties. Michelle discussed the
assignment of parking spaces for families next year to help with issues
(little ones not being easily placed, crowding at the doorways, etc). Michelle look into glow in the dark
numbers to be painted on the parking spots due to night vision for PSR.
- Dates and times were set for the final
three meetings:
- January 9, 2008
- March 12, 2008
- May
14, 2008
- The meetings will start at 7:00 PM
- Go Teach All Nations, a self evaluation
for PSR programs, is scheduled to be completed this year. This is a survey that is complied and
reported back to the Archdiocese by the board and finally Michelle. The last one was done four years ago. Students, parents and catechists/administration
will participate in the survey section.
The survey should begin in early November and we will try to get it
back before the holidays. With some
time to collect missing ones shortly after the holidays. Board members will each compile survey
results and then will give a report and solution recommendations to Michelle
at the March 12 meeting. A
discussion of those recommendations will be done at this meeting. Michelle will then take the information
and create the report for the Archdiocese by the end of the 2007-08 school
year.
- Carrie Sallwasser asked the board, via
Michelle, what problems there were with Parent Meetings and asked for some
brainstorming on solutions. The
First Grade parent and Human Sexuality meetings were discussed and the
small attendance by parents. It was
conveyed through a board member that some attending parents didn’t
understand what the meetings were about.
The same board member passed on that parents were upset with the 2nd
First Grade meeting being cancelled, twice, which seemed to cause
confusion. It was brought up that
possibly looking at how many first time first grade parents there really
are might explain the low numbers.
Michelle said she would compile that information. It was agreed that this was a good
point. It was suggested to possibly
put the First Grade Meeting information online.
- PSR Class Updates for this year.
- New programs for Preschool, Kindergarten,
7th & 8th grade are going well.
- Computer lab will be offered each
week. We are the only school to
offer this. A PSR parent who is a
high school computer teacher will be running the computer lab.
- T-R-Y (Teachers Respect You) sessions
have had some positive feedback and some disappointments.

- New this year is Room Parents for each
catechist/class

- Family Event Nights is new this year
and will occur outside of PSR. Family
grade level Masses and breakfasts are a new way for family and community
to get together.
- Family Mass and Kick off BBQ was a
success.

- Lenten Family Event
- St Joseph Feast Day
- Class pictures will be taken of each
PSR class. We will “trade” class
pictures with the full time classes they share the room with for the
intent of praying for each other and seeing each other in the same space.
- Dinner for Catechists and Teachers was
a great success for the catechists and teachers to get to know each other
and put a face with a name. It very
much helped in shaping attitudes, sharing of space and feelings of being a
team together.
