The Church is a healing community in the spirit
of Christ, who is our head. This sacrament used to be referred to
as "Extreme Unction" and was administered to the dying.
The Church now uses this sacrament of healing and reconciliation.
It is available to the seriously ill (physically or mentally), those
facing serious surgery, those in chronic pain, and the elderly.
Anyone may request reception of the sacrament for
the above reasons by calling the parish office. We also celebrate
the sacrament communally during the course of the year. See the parish
